Int'l conference on Kashmir in Islamabad

Islamabad, May 4: Washington-based Kashmiri American Council (KAC) is hosting a conference titled  “Is Kashmir an issue of election or right to self-determination” which commences here on Monday.
Parliamentarians, prominent scholars, human rights activists as well as the leaders of political and religious parties hailing from both sides of the line of control will attend the conference being held in the backdrop of parliamentary polls in Kashmir.
According to Sheikh Waleed Rasool, the chief coordinator of International Kashmir Conference, besides prime minister of Pakistani administered Kashmir Chaudhry Abdul Majeed and President Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, Senator Raja Zafar-ul-Haq of Pakistan Muslim League-N, Federal Minister Ahasan Iqbal, Senator Baber Awan, Muhahid Hussain Syed would attend the one-day moot, which he said would provide a common platform to the delegates to share their views and expertise on the subject.
He said that Prof Dr Imtiaz, veteran Kashmiri scholar and the incumbent Chairman of KAC would delver keynote address at the international conference.
