Amanullah Khan laid to rest in Gilgit

The president of Muslim Conference and the former prime minister of Pakistani administered Kashmir SardarAttique Ahmed Khan who was accompanying the body of Amanullah Khan also spoke on the occasion.

The supreme head of Jammu & Kashmir Liberation Front, Amanullah Khan, was laid to eternal rest amidst tears, sobs and sighs of grief at a graveyard in his hometown in GilgitBaltistan on Thursday.
A large number of mourners including prominent personalities of political, social and religious parties of GilgitBaltistan as well as the people from different walks of life converged on the region's capital city to pay last respects to the deceased leader. Besides the chief minister of GilgitBaltistan Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman the prayers were attended by Chief Judge of the GB chief court Sahib Khan, deputy speaker Javed Ahmed, Kiafayatullah Malik the president of Bar Association, former JI chief Mushtaq Ahmed Advocate, InayatullahShumaly the chairman of GilgitBaltistan National Alliance, JKLF spokesman Rafique Ahmed Dar and several others.

Divulging details, a Front spokesman told Greater Kashmir that the funeral prayers led by local Imam Ikramullah at city park, were attended by thousands of mourners who converged from all parts of the region.
According to spokesman the Chief Minster Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman and other speakers on the occasion paid tributes to JKLF founder for his contribution to the Kashmir cause.
The body of JKLF founder was taken from Rawalpindi to Gilgit by road yesterday. Before the funeral prayers, Khan's coffin was taken to his younger brother Attiullah Khan's house where relatives, neighbors and other mourners were waiting to catch final glimpses of the departed leader.
JKLF said a condolence meeting will be held at JKLF office AbiGuzar in Srinagar on April 30, Saturday, in which tributes will be paid to the deceased leader.
