Islamabad, Sep 25: Extending full support to the shutdown called by Hurriyat Conference (G) on September 27, the chairman of United Jihad Council (UJC) Syed Sallah-ud-Din on Tuesday urged Kashmiris to observe complete strike on the occasion of President Pranab Mukherjee’s visit to Kashmir on Thursday.
“Indian President’s visit to the valley is tantamount to rubbing salt on the bleeding wounds of Kashmiris,” the UJC chief said in a statement issued here. He said Mukherjee’s visit has no moral justification. “Besides violating international covenants, the armed forces operating in the territory have been committing massive human rights violations, killing hundreds and thousands of Kashmiris,” he said.
Referring to the prevailing situation in the region, the UJC chairman alleged that ‘subjecting people to enforced disappearance, molestation of women, loot and plundering had become a routine for the trigger-happy forces in Kashmir.’
He also condemned the police action against peaceful protest rally organized by Dukhtaran-e-Millat.
He also appreciated the people for launching a strong protest against the blasphemous movie made in the US, saying that observance of peaceful protest across the valley was a clear message that the followers of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) won’t tolerate such wicked attempts by anti-Islam elements.
