PaK’s new cabinet takes oath

18 Ministers Inducted In First Phase

Muzaffarabad, Aug 3: The outgoing president of Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) Raja Zulqarnain Khan on Wednesday administered oath to an 18-member PaK cabinet.
 Besides Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, the oath taking ceremony was attended by Legislative Assembly speaker Sardar Ghulam Sadiq, PPP Secretary General Jahangir Badr, government officials and members of Pakistan Peoples Party.
 The members of the cabinet who were administered oath included Sardar Qamaruz Zaman, Javed Ayub, Chaudhry Rasheed, Bazil Naqvi, Mian Abdul Waheed, Pervez Ashraf, Afsar Shahid, Azhar Gilani, Javed Iqgal Badhanvi, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Abdul Majid, Chaudhry Arshad Hussain, Chaudhry Akbar Ibrahim, Abdul Salam Butt, Ali Shah Soni, Matloob Inqilabi and Sardar Akhtar Hussain Rabbani.
 Senior PPP leader Chudhary Lateef Akbar whose name was earlier proposed for presidentship has been inducted in the new cabinet.
 Pertinently, there are four ministers in the 18-member cabinet with an immigrant background.
 Meanwhile, former PaK premier and convener of PML (N), Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan was elected as leader of the opposition in 49-member legislative body. PML-N, the newly established political entity, which enjoys full support from Pakistan Muslim League led by Nawaz Sharif in the center, emerged as the region’s second largest political force during the recent polls bagging 11 out of total 41 elected seats.
