Islamabad, July 17: In Pakistani administered Kashmir (PaK), preparations are in full swing for the upcoming visit of Pakistan’s premier Raja Pervaiz Ashraf who is all set to embark on a day-long visit to the mountainous region on 18 July 2012.
The prime minister would be visiting the picturesque Neelum Valley wherein he would lay foundation stone of mega projects that included the construction of Benazir Express Way, 120 kilometer long Athmuqam-Taobhat road running along the right bank of River Neelum.
Divulging details of the visit, Murtaza Durani the media advisor to PaK premier told Greater Kashmir that the Pakistani Prime Minister would be accorded a warm reception on his maiden visit to region and all the preparations have been finalized in this regard. He said that the PM Raja and other delegates would fly directly from Islamabad to Athmuqam and during his short visit the PM would inaugurate some mega projects that would usher an era of peace and prosperity in Neelum Valley.
"PM is also scheduled to address a public gathering at district headquarter Athmuqam", he maintained. He said that the Pak Prime Minister would also inaugurate Cellular Service and a newly constructed building of 200-bed district headquarters hospital at Athmuqam. Raja is likely to announce long-awaited package regarding the increasing of monthly allowance for Kashmiri migrant community settled in various camps in the region.
Pertinently, Neelum Valley stretching over that remained under virtual siege for more than a decade due to exchange of intermittent fire between India and Pakistani troops posted on either sides of LoC. However, the situation in the economically backward area improved markedly after 2003 when Pervaiz Musharraf led government announced a unilateral ceasefire in Kashmir prompting the government of India to reciprocate positively.
