Islamabad, Oct 25: Terming 27 October as one of the bleakest chapters in Kashmir history, the Chairman of United Jihad Council and supreme commander of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen Syed Salahuddin has said that Kashmiris have never accepted New Delhi’s control on their soil.
Salahuddin while addressing a high level meeting of the UJC said Kashmiris have been fighting for their Right to Self Determination for past 62-years. “Despite facing all odds Kashmiris have remained firm on their resolve. During these years thousands of innocent civilians were killed by forces and hundreds have been subjected to enforced disappearances.”
“Forces have taken control over hundreds and thousands of acres of agricultural and forest land while on the other it was hoodwinking the international community by harping about so-called peace process,” he said. He however maintained that India can befool the world but not the people of Kashmir who were fully aware of its policy of double-dealing. The UJC chairman warned that no opportunist whosoever on the either sides of LOC would be allowed to betray Kashmir cause.
He further stated that the India was conspiring to setup Amarnath city in Kashmir in the name of Amarnath Cave, which he said would not be tolerated by the Kashmiris. Lambasting the state authorities for maintaining criminal silence over the issue, he said, “The puppet authorities have become part of this conspiracy just to save their government”
Syed Sallaudin also reiterated his pledge to carry forward the ongoing struggle saying that the day was not far when the people of Kashmir would materialize their cherished dream.
Extending Eid greetings to Muslim Ummah and Kashmiri nation in particular, he urged the privileged class not to forget underprivileged and needy people on this joyous occasion.
