راولپنڈی//پاک زیر انتظام کشمیر کے سابق وزیر اعظم سردار عتیق احمد خان نے کہا ہے کہ مسلم کانفر نس اور اہل کشمیر اقوام متحدہ کے سیکرٹری جنرل مسٹر با نکی مون کے تین روزہ دورہ بھارت کا خیرمقدم کرتے ہوئے دلی خواہش ظاہر کرتے ہیں کہ جنوبی ایشاء میں اقوام متحدہ کا کردار مزید موثر ہو نا چاہیے۔ صدر مسلم کانفر نس نے اقوام متحدہ کے سیکرٹری جنرل کے نام ایک یاداشت میںکہا ہے کہ مسئلہ کشمیر چونکہ اقوام متحدہ کے ایجنڈا پر ہے لہذا یہ اقوام عالم کی ذمہ داری ہے کہ وہ اس دیرینہ مسئلے کے پرامن حل  کے حوالے سے اپنا کردار اداکریں۔ایسٹ تمور کا حوالہ دیتے ہوئے سابق وزیر اعظم نے اپنے خط میں اس بات کی نشاندہی کی ہے کہ کشمیر جیسے دیگر عالمی تنازعات کو حل کیا گیا ہے لیکن بد قسمتی سے کشمیر کا مسئلہ جو عالمی برادری کے لئے ایک بہت بڑا چلینج ہے ابھی تک حل نہیںہوسکاہے جو انتہائی افسوسناک اور حیران کن بھی ہے۔سردار عتیق احمد خان نے کہا ہے کہ مسئلہ کشمیر کے حل کے لئے اقوام متحدہ کا روڈ میپ پاکستان بھارت ،کشمیریوں اور بین الاقوامی برادری نے تسلیم کیا ہے اور یو این او کی  قراردادوں کی روشنی میں کشمیری پاک بھارت مذاکرات کی حمائت کرتے ہیں۔انکا کہنا تھاکہ کشمیریوں کی جانب سے مذاکرات کی حمائت دونوں ملکوں کویہ موقعہ فراہم کرتا ہے کہ وہ کشمیریوں کے اس مثبت رویہ کی بنیاد پر مذاکراتی عمل کا دائر کار مزیدوسیع کرتے ہوئے ڈائیلاگ میں کشمیریوں کوشمولیت کا موقعہ فراہم کریں۔ انہوں نے بانکی مون کو سیاچن سانحہ کے پیش نظر کشمیر کا دورہ کر نیکی درخواست کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ انکے دورہ انسانی ہمدردی کے اظہار کے ساتھ ساتھ تنازعہ کشمیر کے پر امن حل کی جانب ایک مثبت قدم ثابت ہوگا۔ ایک الگ بیان میںسردار عتیق نے اقوام متحدہ کے سیکرٹری جنرل کے دورہ بھارت پر تبصرہ کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ کشمیری مسئلہ کا پر امن مذاکراتی حل چاہتے ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا مسئلہ کشمیر اس خطے میں تنازعات اور مسائل پید ا کرنے والی سانحہ ساز فیکٹری بن چکا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ سیاچن کا برفانی تودہ اسی سانحہ کا تسلسل ہے اس لئے کہ سیاچن جموںوکشمیر کا حصہ ہے اور امریکی صدر و چین کے وزیر اعظم دونوں اپنے دورہ بھارت کے دوران اس کے پر امن سیاسی حل پر زور دے چکے ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اہل کشمیر کی اقوام متحدہ کے سیکرٹری جنرل سے پر زور اپیل ہے کہ وہ مسئلہ کشمیر کے پر امن حل کے لئے بھارت کو آمادہ کریں۔ سردار عتیق احمد نے کہا کہ مسلم کانفر نس سرینگر سے لیکر لداخ تک کے تمام طبقات کی نمائندگی کر نے والا نمائندہ سیاسی پلیٹ فارم ہے اس لئے تمام طبقات کے دکھ اور اذیت کو بھی پوری طرح محسوس کرتے ہیں۔

حریت قیادت 93ء کے آئین کی بنیاد پر متحد و متفق ہو

اسلام آباد// مسلم لیگ کے زیر اہتمام منعقدہ سمینار سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے مقررین نے حریت قیادت سے اپیل کی ہے کہ وہ 1993کے آئین کو بنیاد بنا کر وسیع تر مفادات کی خاطر ایک پلیٹ فارم پر متحدو متفق ہوں تاکہ حصول حق خودارادیت کی جدو جہد کو اسکے منطقی انجام تک پہنچایا جاسکے۔جدوجہد آزادی اور ہمارا رول کے عنوان سے منعقدہ اس کانفرس میں حد متارکہ کے دونوں جانب تعلق رکھنے والے کشمیری قائدین ، حریت کے دونوں دھڑوں اور لبریشن فرنٹ کے رہنمائوں، قلم کار ، دانشور حضرات اورسول سوسائیٹی کے نمائندوں نے شرکت کی۔مقررین نے تحریک کو درپیش چیلنجز اوربدلتے ہوئے عالمی اور علاقائی صورتحال کاجائزہ لیتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ وقت کا تقاضا ہے کہ کشمیری قیادت میں مکمل ہم اہنگی ، اتفاق و اتحادہو۔شرکاء کانفرنس نے مسئلہ کشمیر کو حق خودارادیت کی بنیاد پر حل کرنے کی تجویز پیش کرتے ہوئے یہ واضح کیا کہ کشمیری عوام کی امنگوں کے عین مطابق مسئلہ کشمیر کا  پر امن حل ہی جنوبی ایشیا میں امن وسلامتی اور پاک بھارت تعلقات کا ضامن ہے۔شرکاء نے ایک قرارداد کے ذریعے کشمیری امریکن کونسل کے ڈائریکٹر غلام نبی فائی کی خدمات کا اعتراف کرتے ہوئے بین الاقوامی سطح پر حق خوداریت کی تحریک کو اجاگر کرنے کی انکی انتھک جدو جہد کی سراہنا کی۔کانفرنس میں پاکستانی سیاسی قیادت، حزب اختلاف اور حزب اقتدار کی جماعتوں پر زور دیا گیا کہ وہ کشمیر کے حوالے سے یک نکاتی ایجنڈے پر متفق ہوکر کشمیریوں کی جدو جہد کی ہر سطح پر حمائت جاری رکھنے کے ساتھ ساتھ مسئلہ کشمیر کو کشمیریوں کے خواہشات کے مطابق حل کرنے کے حوالے سے کوششیں تیز کریں۔انہوں نے کہا کہ مذاکرات کی آڑ میں مسئلہ کشمیر کو منجمد کرنے یا سرد خانے کی نظر کرنے کی کسی کوشش کو کامیاب نہیں ہونے دیا جائے گا۔انہوں نے کہا کہ حد متارکہ کے دونوں جانب کشمیری قیادت پر مشتمل ایک ورکنگ گروپ تشکیل دیا جائے جو پاکستانی قومی قیادت کومذاکراتی عمل کے حوالے سے کشمیریوں کے خدشات سے آگاہ کرے۔مقررین کا کہنا تھا کہ موجودہ حالات کے تناظر میںآرپار کشمیری قیادت کو مل بیٹھ کر ایک جامع حکمت عملی وضع کرنے کی ضرورت ہے۔تاہم انکا کہنا تھا کہ نئی حکمت عملی وضع کرنے کے لئے خود احتسابی کے عمل سے گذرنا ہوگا ۔انکا موقف تھا کہ خود احتسابی کا عمل قوموں کے مستقبل کی راہیں متعین کرنے میں کلیدی کردار اداکرتا ہے۔انہوں نے کہا کہ زمینی حقائق کا ادراک کرتے ہوئے کشمیری قیادت کو چاہیے کہ وہ ایکBalancedاپروچ اختیار کرکے معاملات اور تحریک کو درپیش مسائل کا تعین کرے اور ایک درست سمت میںتحریک کو لیجانے کے اقدامات کریں۔انہوں نے کہا کہ حریت پسند تنظیموں کے درمیان اتحاد سے دونوں ملکو کو مثبت پیغام جانے کے ساتھ ساتھ کشمیری عوام کے مورال بلند ہونگے۔انہوں نے اس عزم کا اعادہ کیا کہ کشمیری عوام کے بنیادی حق حق خودارادیت پر کسی قسم کا سمجھوتا نہیں ہوگا۔پاک بھارت تعلقات کے حوالے سے مقررین نے کہا کہ کشمیری کبھی بھی دونوں ملکوں کے درمیان بہتر تعلقات کے مخالف نہیں تھے لیکن انہوں نے یہ واضع کیا کہ پاک بھارت دوستی کشمیریوں کی قربانیوں کی قیمت پر نہیں ہونے چاہیں۔مقررین نے پاکستان کی جملہ سیاسی قیادت کی مسئلہ کشمیر کے حوالے سے لاتعلقی کے اظہار پربھی گہرے تشویش کا اظہار بھی کیا۔بعض مقررین نے ملک کی تین بڑی سیاسی پارٹیوں، حزب اقتدار اور کشمیر کمیٹی کے کردار پر کڑی نقطہ چینی کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ وہ  مسئلہ کشمیر کے حوالے سے اپنی ذمہ داریاں نبھانے میں ناکام ہوچکے ہیں۔معتمر رابط عالم اسلامی کے سیکٹر ی جنرل اور مسلم لیگ کے چیرمین راجہ ظفر الحق جوکانفرنس میں واحد پاکستانی لیڈر موجود تھے نے اس موقعہ پر کہا کہ کشمیریوں کو امید کا دامن نہیں چھوڑنا چاہیے بلکہ صبر واستقلال اپنے منزل مقصود کی طرف گامزن رہنا چاہیے۔انہوں نے کہا کہ دنیا نے کشمیر یوں کو نہیںبلایا ،کشمیریوں کی تعدادڈیڑھ کروڑسے زیادہ ہے انہیں کوئی بھی نطر انداز نہیں کرسکتا۔انہوں نے کہا کہ کشمیری عوام کی امنگوں کے عین مطابق کشمیر کا پر امن حل ہی خطے میں امن وسلامتی کی ضمانت ہے۔انہوں نے کہا کہ کشمیر کے مسئلے کا حل بذات خود امن کی آشا ہے اور اس دیرینہ مسئلے کے حل کی جب بات ہوتی ہے تو یہ امن کی خواہش کا برملا اظہار ہے ۔انہوں نے کہا کہ بھارت میں بھی کشمیر کے حوالے سے تبدیلیاں رونماہورہی ہیں جو ایک مثبت پیش رفت ہے ۔معروف قلم کار اور انسانی حقوق کی علمبردار اروندھتی رائے کا حوالہ دیتے ہوئے انہوں نے کہا کہ بھارت کی سول سوسائیٹی نے بھی کشمیریوں کے حق میں بات کرنا شروع کردیا ہے۔ تاہم پاکستان کی سول سوسائیٹی کی کشمیر کے حوالے سے اُٹھائے گئے سوالات کے بارے میںراجہ ظفر الحق نے جواب دینے سے گریز کیا۔انکا کہنا تھا کہ جو بھی کشمیریوں کے حق میں بات کرے اسکی حوصلہ افزائی ہونی چاہیے۔کانفرنس سے سابق صدر سردار انور خان، خالد ابرہیم، امیر جماعت اسلامی عبدلرشید ترابی،کل جماعتی حریت کانفرنس کے کنوینر ز محمود احمد ساغر، غلام محمد صفی،محمد فاروق رحمانی، شیخ تجمل لاسلام،سید یوسف نسیم، اشتیاق حمید،الطاف وانی، رفیق ڈار، مظفر حسین شاہ،شوکت وانی اور دیگر مقریرین نے خطاب کیا۔

لاہور //لبریشن فرنٹ چیئرمین محمد یاسین ملک نے کہا ہے مسئلہ کشمیر کو پس پشت ڈالنے یا منجمد کرنا کشمیریوں کیلئے نا قابل قبول ہے کیونکہ اس قوم نے مسئلہ کے پر امن حل کیلئے بے پناہ قربانیاں دی ہیں۔ لاہور پاکستان میں جماعت اسلامی پاکستان کے ہیڈ کوارٹر پر امیر جماعت سید منور حسن کے ہمراہ ایک پریس کانفرنس سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے ملک نے کہا کہ کشمیریوں نے ہمیشہ ہندوستان اور پاکستان درمیان امن مساعی اور بات چیت کی حمایت کی ہے تاہم ان کا کہنا تھا کہ ماضی میں ہوئے مذاکرات کی ناکامی نے اس پورے عمل پر ایک سوالیہ نشان لگایا۔ملک نے کہا کہ یہ ایک کڑوا سچ ہے کہ ہندوپاک نے مذاکراتی عمل میں کبھی بھی کشمیریوں کو اپنی نمائندگی کا حق نہیں دیا۔انہوں نے کشمیریوں کی مالکانہ اور فریقانہ حیثیت تسلیم کرنے کا مطالبہ کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ کشمیری متفکر ہیں کہ کہیں ماضی ہی کی طرح پھر اُنکی قربانیوں کو درکنار نہ کیا جائے۔ انہوں نے کہا جہاں تک مذاکرات کا تعلق ہے اس حوالے سے اس وقت کشمیریوں بھی کنفیوژن کا شکار ہیں ۔انہوں نے کہا کہ کشمیری اس تنازعہ کے وجہ سے سب سے زیادہ متاثر ہوئے ہیں اور آج تک ہزاروں کشمیری اپنی قیمتی جانوں کو کھو بیٹھے۔انہوں نے کہا کہ کشمیری خطے میں امن و استحکام چاہتے ہیں تاہم یہ سب تب تک ممکن نہیں ہے جب تک نہ مسئلہ کشمیر کو جموں وکشمیر کے عوام ،جو اپنی حقوق کے لئے پر امن اور تشدد سے مبرا تحریک چلا رہے ہیں ،کی خواہشات کے مطابق حل کیا جاتا ۔امیر جماعت اسلامی پاکستان سید منور حسن نے کشمیر کی تحریک میں محمد یاسین ملک کے رول کی سراہنا کرتے ہوئے اسے اپنی تنظیم کی طرف سے کشمیر کاز کے لئے مکمل تعاون کا یقین دلایا ۔انہو نے کہا کہ پاکستانی عوام اس جدوجہد میں کشمیری بھائیوں کو اکیلے نہیں چھوڑ سکتے ہیں ۔منور حسن کا کہنا تھا کہ کشمیری پاکستانیوں کی جنگ لڑ رہے ہیں لیکن یہاں کے حکمرانوں،سیاسی جماعتوں حتی کہ میڈیا نے کشمیر مسئلہ کو نظر انداز کیا ہے۔انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ مولانا فضل الرحمان کی قیادت والی پارلیمانی کشمیر کمیٹی عالمی سطح پر کشمیر مسئلہ کو اجاگر کرنے میں ناکام ہوئی ہے۔سابق صدر پرویز مشرف کی کشمیر پالیسی کو تنقید کا نشانہ بناتے ہوئے امیر جماعت پاکستان نے کہا’’مشرف کی قیادت والی سرکار کے دوران کشمیر کے حوالے سے پالیسوں میں لائی گئی تبدیلوں کی وجہ سے کشمیر کاز کو زبردست نقصان پہنچا ہے جبکہ موجودہ حکومت بھی مشرف کی راستے پر چل رہی ہے‘‘۔اس سے قبل لبریشن فرنٹ چیر مین نے رفیق احمد ڈار،سلیم ہارون اور ڈاکٹر توقیر گیلانی کی قیادت میں وفد نے جماعت اسلامی کے لیڈران سید منور حسن ،عبد الرشید ترابی ،ڈاکٹر فرید پراچہ ،اسلم سلیمی،ڈاکٹر کمال اور عبد الغفار عزیز کے ساتھ ملاقات کر کے تقریباً دو گھنٹے مسئلہ کشمیر ،موجود ہ سیاسی صورتحال اور ہندوستان پاکستان کے درمیان بات چیت پر تفصیل کے ساتھ گفتگو کی۔

Islamabad, Apr 25: Urging the United Nations Secretary General to visit Jammu and Kashmir, the President of Muslim Conference and former Prime Minister of Pakistan Administered Kashmir (PAK), Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, has said that Kashmiris’ willingness to a negotiated peaceful settlement of long-running Kashmir dispute provides a unique opportunity to India and Pakistan to explore further ground for negotiations.
Khan made these assertions in his communiqué addressed to the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, who is arriving in India on April 26 for a three-day visit. Seeking the world body attention towards Kashmir issue, he said, “The recent most shocking tragedy of snow avalanche in Siachen devouring precious lives of 139 persons in uniform has once again underscored the urgency of settling the dispute of Jammu and Kashmir, a lingering dispute on the rolls of the UN Security Council.”
He said that it was a natural reaction that whenever a calamity of such gruesome scale occurs in any part of the state, the people start looking towards the world arbiter- the UN.
He reminded the Secretary General that the Siachen tragedy has yet again refreshed the sentiments of the people of Kashmir.
Referring to East Timor, Khan in his communiqué pointed out that many complex issues of global peace and security have been settled elsewhere in the world. Under the given circumstances, he said that the unresolved Kashmir dispute was itself a great tragedy and a challenge for the world at large. “Whenever a world scholar browses the pages of history he/she stumbles upon the unresolved dispute of Kashmir,” he said. “The unsettled dispute of Kashmir is a sheer shock and awe,” he added.
Urging the Secretary General to visit Jammu and Kashmir at this hour of grief as a contribution towards humanitarianism, the MC President said, “The presence of your good self in Kashmir would itself constitute an occasion of vitality for a move towards Kashmir solution.”
“In the light of the Kashmir resolutions of the UN Security Council, Kashmiris favour a negotiated peaceful settlement of this dispute. This willingness of theirs provides an occasion of positive progress. Both Pakistan and India can build on this positivism as a basis to explore further ground for negotiations, giving opportunity of participation to Kashmiris as well,” he said.

اسلام آباد//پاک زیر انتظام کشمیر کے وزیراعظم چوہدری عبدالمجید نے کہا کہ حق خودارادیت کشمیریوں کا بین الاقوامی تسلیم شدہ حق ہے اور کشمیری عوام اس سے ایک انچ آگے یا ایک انچ پیچھے نہیں ہوں گے۔ فرنٹ چیرمین محمد یاسین ملک کے اعزاز میںدئے گئے عشائیہ کے موقعہ پر گفتگو کرتے ہوئے  وزیر اعظم نے کہا کہ  تحریک آزادی کے بیس کیمپ کی حکومت آرپار کی قیادت کی مشاورت سے مسئلہ کشمیر بین الاقوامی سطح پر ایک جامع حکمت عملی کے ذریعہ اجاگرکرنے پر عمل پیراہے تاکہ بین الاقوامی دنیا کشمیر میں انسانی حقوق کی سنگین پامالیوں اور مسئلہ کشمیر کو طاقت کے ذریعہ حل کرنے کی بھارتی کوششوں کا نوٹس لے اور بھارت کو طاقت کے ذریعہ مسئلہ حل کرنے سے باز رکھے۔انہوں نے کہا کہ بین الاقوامی سطح پر وعدوں کی پاسداری کرتے ہوئے کشمیریوں کو استصواب رائے کا حق دے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ حریت قیادت تحریک آزادی کشمیر کے حوالے سے جو فیصلہ کرے گی اورجو حکمت عملی اپنائے گی آزاد خطہ کی حکومت اور عوام حریت قیادت کے ہر فیصلے کو قبول کریں گے۔ انہوں نے کشمیر کے عوام کو یقین دلایا کہ جدوجہد آزادی کی تحریک میں وہ تنہا نہیں ہیں،آزاد خطہ کی حکومت اور عوام ان کے شانہ بشانہ کھڑے ہیں۔اس موقعہ پر  سپیکر غلام صادق، سینئر وزیر چوہدری محمد یاسین، وزیر صحت قمر الزمان خان، وزیر ہائوسنگ چوہدری پرویز اشرف، وزیر قانون سید اظہر گیلانی، وزیر بحالیات عبدالماجد خان، بھی موجود تھے۔اس موقع پر وزیر اعظم نے کہا کہ کشمیری عوام پاک بھارت مذاکرات کے حق میں ہیں لیکن مذاکرات بامقصد ہونے چاہیے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ کشمیری عوام یہ چاہتے ہیں کہ مسئلہ کشمیر کشمیری عوام کی مرضی کے مطابق حل کیا جائے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ آزادی پسند دنیا کشمیر میں بھارتی قابض فوج کے ہاتھوں انسانی حقوق کی سنگین خلاف ورزیاں روکے، نوجوان نسل کی ٹارگٹ کلنگ اور حریت قیادت کو ہراساں کرنے کے بھارتی ہتھکنڈوں کو بند کرائے اور کشمیر پر غیر قانونی غاصبانہ تسلط سے آزادی دلائے۔ وزیر اعظم نے کہا کہ جنوبی ایشیاء کے اس ریجن میں امن کے قیام کیلئے کشمیر کا مسئلہ حل ہونا چاہیے۔ مسئلہ کشمیر کے حل کے بغیر جنوبی ایشیاء کا امن ایک خواب ہی رہے گالبریشن فرنٹ کے چیرمین یاسین ملک نے اس موقع پر کہا کہ جنوبی ایشیاء کے امن کے لیے وقت ضائع کیے بغیر کشمیر کا مسئلہ حل کیا جائے۔ پاکستان اور بھارت کے درمیان مذاکرات میں مسئلہ کشمیر کو فوکس ہونا چاہیے۔ مہذب دنیا نے فیصلہ کیا ہوا ہے کہ تمام مسائل کو پر امن ذرائع سے حل کیا جائے اور یہ مہذب دنیا کا فرض بنتا ہے کہ وہ کشمیریوں کو حق خودارادیت دلوائیں تاکہ کشمیری اپنے مستقبل کا خود فیصلہ کر سکیں۔انہوں نے کہا کہ مسئلہ کشمیر کو منجمد کرنے یا اس کو سرخانے کی نظر کرنے کی کسی بھی کوشش کو کشمیری عوام مستر کریں گے۔انہوں نے کہا کہ کشمیریوں نے بیش بہا قربانیاں دی ہیں اور مسئلہ کشمیر کو نئی نسل بر چھوڑنے کے بجائے دونوں ملکوں کو چاہیے کہ وہ اس دیرینہ مسئلے کو حل کرنے کے لئے سنجیدہ کوششیں کرے۔انکا کہنا تھا کہ مذاکرت مسائل حل کرنے کا بہترین زریعے ہیں لیکن اگر مسئلہ کشمیر حل کرنے کے لئے سنجیدہ کوششیں نہ کی گئیں تواس سے مذاکراتی عمل کی اعتبارعیت پر حرف آئے گا۔انکا کہنا تھا کہ مذاکرات کے حوالے سے کشمیری عوام میں مایوسی پائی جارہی ہے اور یہ تاثر زور پکٹرتا جارہا ہے کہ مسئلہ کشمیر کو سردخانے میں ڈالنے کی کوششیں ہورہی ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ پاکستانی سیاسی قیادت ، میڈیا اور سول سوسائیٹی کا مسئلہ کشمیر کے حوالے سے خاموشی اور اظہار لاتعلقی سے کشمیری عوام میں مایوسی اور تشویش میں ائے دن اضافہ ہوتا جارہا ہے۔انہوں نے کہا کہ کشمیر میں لوگ یہ محسوس کرت رہے ہیں کہ مذاکراتی عمل میں کشمیر کا شامل نہ ہونا اس بات کی دلالت کرتا ہے کہ شاید کشمیر کو Freezeیا منجمد کرنے کی کوشش ہورہی ہیں۔انہوں نے کہا مسئلہ کشمیر کے حل کے لئے کشمیریوں کی تین نسلوں نے قربانیاں دی ہے اور اگر اس مسئلے کو پس پشت ڈالنے کی کوشش کی گئی تو کشمیری عوام کی قربانیوںکے ساتھ سراسر ناانصافی ہوگی۔

Islamabad, Apr 25: The speakers at a conference here on Wednesday resolved that in view of the changes sweeping across the globe the separatist leadership should forge complete unanimity within their ranks to take the ongoing struggle to its logical end.
 “In the larger interest of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, the leadership must converge on a single platform by making Hurriyat constitution of 1993 as the basis for unity”, the speakers said this while addressing a seminar which was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League a constituent of Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani.
 Speakers on the occasion said that it was high time that the leadership must demonstrate pragmatism, magnanimity and balanced approach to evolve a comprehensive mechanism to take the nation (Kashmiris) out of despondency.
 Regarding the final settlement of Kashmir dispute the participants of the conference suggested that peaceful settlement of the vexed issue on the basis of right to self-determination was inescapably linked to the peace and stability of South Asia as well as the neighbourly relations of the two countries. They said that any attempt to freeze Kashmir issue or putting Kashmir on the back burner was not acceptable to the people of Kashmir who have rendered unprecedented sacrifice over the last several years.
 Majority of speakers while expressing concern over Pakistani political parties, media and civil society’s indifference towards Kashmir issue, said that it was very unfortunate that Kashmir issue was missing in the dominant discourse in the country. They suggested that a special working group comprising Kashmiri leaders from both sides of line of control should be constituted forthwith to convey Kashmiri peoples’ apprehensions to Pakistani leadership. Some of the speakers at the conference stressed the need for self-introspection saying that the process of self-analysis and soul-searching plays instrumental role in shaping the nations’ destination.
  Regarding indo-Pak dialogue they said that Kashmiris were not averse to friendly relations between the two countries. However, they maintained that the Indo-Pak bilateral relations at the cost of Kashmiris were unacceptable to the people of Kashmir.
 The participants through a resolution hailed the Kashmir American Council Director, Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai’s role in promoting Kashmiris’ cause of right to self determination at the international level.
 Raja Zaffar-ul Haq, the chairman of Pakistan Muslim League, to the contrary painted an “All is well” picture of the situation and said that rather losing heart Kashmiris should continue their struggle with dedication and perseverance. Kashmiris who constitute a population of over 16 million people he said can not be just ignored. He said that solution of Kashmir in accordance with the UN resolutions was a guarantee to peace and stability in the region. He said that it was positive development that Indian civil society was talking about the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
 Others who spoke on the occasion included, former PaK president Sardar Anwar Khan, JI chief Abdul Rasheed Turabi, Khalid Ibraheem, APHC conveners Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Muslim League convener and host of the conference Ishtiaq Hameed, KMS Executive Director Sheikh Tajamul-ul-Islam and several others.

Lahore, Apr 23: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik has said that proposals like freezing Kashmir dispute for certain period were impracticable and unacceptable to the people of Kashmir who have offered huge sacrifices to get the issue settled peacefully.
 Malik while addressing a joint press conference with Jama’at-e-Islami Pakistan chief Syed Munawar Hassan at Mansoora headquarters here said that Kashmiris have always supported peace process and dialogue between India and Pakistan. He, however, stated that ‘failure of dialogue process’ in the past has put a  big question mark on the credibility of the process.
 He said that it was a bitter reality that Kashmiris were never taken into confidence by either of the two countries. Even today, he said, Kashmiris were in total confusion so far as talks are concerned. He added that Kashmiris have been the worst victims of the deadly conflict as hundreds of thousands of Kashmiris have lost their lives over the last several decades. He said that Kashmiris were also aspirant of peace, prosperity and stability of the region and but it was not possible unless the dispute of Kashmir was settled in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people who were engaged in a peaceful, non-violent and democratic struggle.
 Syed Munawar Hassan praised Malik for his role in the ongoing struggle and assured his party’s full support to Kashmir cause. He said that people of Pakistan wouldn’t leave their Kashmiri brethren alone in their struggle.
 Hassan was of the view that Kashmiris were fighting "Pakistan’s war" but the incumbent regime, political parties and even the media were ignoring the Kashmir issue. He added that Parliamentary Kashmir Committee led by Moulana Fazl-ur-Rehman has also failed to promote Kashmir cause at international level.
 Flaying former president Parvez Musharraf’s policy on Kashmir, he said, “The policy change on Kashmir by Musharraf-led government had done great harm to the Kashmir cause,” adding that incumbent regime was also toeing Musharraf’s line.
 Earlier, the JKLF chairman accompanied by Rafique Ahmed Dar, Saleem Haroon and Dr Touqeer Gilani had a detailed meeting with JI leadership including Syed Munawar Hassan, Abdul Rashid Turabi, Dr. Fareed Ahmed Paracha, Aslam Saleemi, Dr. Kamal and Abdul Ghafar Aziz.
 During the meeting that lasted for more than two hours, both the sides discussed in detail the prevailing political situation and the ongoing dialogue process between India and Pakistan.

Ch Sharif Tariq passes away

Islamabad, Apr 20: Renowned writer and Liberation League stalwart, Advocate Chudhary Muhammad Sharif Tariq passed away after a protracted illness in Pakistan Administered Kashmir’s southern city of Mirpore. He was 76.
 Tariq breathed his last at his residence in Mirpore a day before yesterday and was laid to eternal rest at the city’s graveyard (Gulzar Qabristan Mirpore). Talking to Greater Kashmir the president of Liberation League and former chief justice of PaK said that a large number of people including politicians, members of the civil society, judges and lawyers community participated in the funeral prayers of the deceased.
 Hailing from Poonch, Advocate Chudhary was born on 14 March 1936 at Kalapan. After receiving early education from his native town, Tariq did his bachelors from Kashmir University and earned a Degree in Law from prestigious Aligarh University in 1962.Tariq actively participated in “resistance movement” in Muslim dominated areas of Poonch-Rajouri in mid 60s. Latter he migrated to PaK and got settled in the lake view city of Mirpore, where he started practicing law to earn livelihood for his family. In 1976, he formally joined J&K Liberation League led by K H Khursheed and following the tragic death of Khursheed-e-Millat in 1988, Sharif was appointed as president of the party. Advocate Sharif Tariq had been one of four candidates who contested presidential elections in PaK. The liberation league leader has authored several books that including “Kashmir in strangulation, Khoni Lakeer, Jabr-e-Musalsal and Haj ka Safar”.
 Meanwhile, president Liberation League, Justice (Retd) Majeed Malik while expressing sorrow over the demise said the deceased would be remembered for a long time in the annals of Kashmir history for his valuable contribution in social and political and literary services. Senior Leftist leader and columnist, Comrade Krishen Dev Sethi has also condoled the demise and prayed for peace to the departed soul.

اسلام آباد//کشمیری رہنمائوںنے عالمی اور علاقائی سطح پر بدلتی ہوئی صورتحال کے پیش نظر مسئلہ کشمیر کے حوالے سے جامع حکمت عملی وضع کرنے اور حد متارکہ کے دونوں جانب کشمیری قیادت کے درمیان مکمل ہم اہنگی اور اتحادو اتفاق کی ضرورت پر زوردیا ہے۔کشمیری رہنمائوں نے ان خیالات کا اظہار جمعرات کو جماعت اسلامی کے امیر عبدالرشید ترابی کی طرف سے لبریشن فرنٹ چیئرمین محمد یاسین ملک کے اعزاز میں دئیے گئے ظہرانے کے موقع پر گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کیا ۔ ظہرانے میں حریت کانفرنس پاکستان شاخ کے کنوینر محمود احمد ساغر ، مولانا غلام نبی نوشہری ، لبریشن فرنٹ رہنما رفیق ڈار بھی موجود تھے ۔ اس موقع پر یاسین ملک نے کہا کہ تاریخ گواہ ہے کہ کشمیر ی قوم نے موجودہ جدوجہد کے دوران بیش بہا قربانیاں دی ہیں جسکی کہیں مثال نہیں ملتی۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ کشمیری عوام کے ساتھ ظلم وجبراور زیادتیاں ہوئیں، بڑے بڑے علماء اور دانشوروں کو قتل کیا گیالیکن اس کے باوجود بھی کشمیریوں نے اپنے موقف پر کسی قسم کا سمجھوتا نہیں کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ بد قسمتی سے مسئلہ کشمیر سرد خانے میں ڈالنے کی باتیں ہورہی ہیںجو انتہائی افسوسناک بات ہے کیونکہ کشمیریوں نے چار نسلیں جدوجہد آزادی میں قربان کی ہیں اور وہ نہیں چاہتے کہ انکی آنے والی نسل کے لیے بھی قبرستان سجائے جائیں ۔انہوں نے کہا کہ کشمیریوں کے لیے یہ آزمائش کی گھڑی ہے ۔پاک بھارت مذاکراتی عمل کے حوالے سے انہوں نے کہا کہ کشمیری مذاکرات کے مخالف نہیں بلکہ وہ سمجھتے ہیں کہ دنیا کے تمام مسائل بات چیت سے حل ہوتے ہیں لیکن یہ المیہ ہے کہ ایک طرف مذاکرات کا راگ الاپا جارہا جبکہ دوسری جانب کشمیریوں پر آئے روز پابندیاں عائد کی جاتی ہیں۔انہوں نے کشمیریوں کو آئے روز گرفتار کر کے جیلوں میں بند کیا جاتا ہے اور اب Facebookپر بھی پابندی عائد کی جاچکی ہے ،جو آزادنہ اظہار رائے کے عالمی اصولوں کے منافی ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ کشمیریوں نے نائن الیون کے بعد حالات کے تناظر میں پر امن عوامی جدوجہد شروع کی تاہم بھارت کی طرف سے ظلم و جبر میں کوئی کمی واقع نہیں ہوئی ۔انہوں نے واضح کیا کہ وہ  مذاکراتی عمل کیخلاف نہیں ہیں مگر یہ کیسے مذاکرات ہوں گے جن میں کشمیریوں کے لئے اظہار رائے کی پابندی ہوگی ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ مذاکرات ہر قوم کی آخری امید ہوتی ہے اگر یہ امید بھی ختم ہو جائے تو ایک بحران آ جاتا ہے ۔ ایک طرف مذاکرات کی بات کی جاتی ہے دوسری طرف کشمیر میں سیاسی سرگرمی پر پابندی ہے کشمیر میں اگر کوئی فیس بک پر اپنے جذبات کا اظہار کرے اس کے خلاف کریک ڈاون ہوتا ہے ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم چاہتے ہیں کہ پاکستان اور بھارت بات چیت کے ذریعے ایک وسیع تر ریفرنڈم کرائیں جس میں کشمیری عوام اپنے حق خود ارادیت کا فیصلہ کریں ۔ یاسین ملک نے افسوس کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ پاکستانی میڈیا میں مسئلہ کشمیر ’’ ڈیلیٹ ‘‘ کر دیا گیا ہے جبکہ سیاسی جماعتیں خاموش ہو گئی ہیں ۔ جماعت اسلامی امیر عبد الرشید ترابی نے کہا کہ پاکستان کی قومی قیادت حکومت اور اپوزیشن کا موقف کشمیر کی صورت حال سے ہم آہنگ نہیں ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ لائن آف کنٹرول کے آر پار کی قیادت کیلئے مشکل ترین حالات ہیں ہمیں باہم مل کر نئی حکمت عملی اپنانی ہوگی ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ضرورت اس بات کی ہے ایسی حکمت عملی وضع کی جائے کہ ہماری تحریک برقرار رہے ۔انہوں نے کہا کہ اس سلسلے میں جماعت اسلامی آنے والے دنوں میں دونوں طرف کی قیادت کی ملاقات کا اہتمام کرے گی ۔حریت کانفرنس کنوینر محمود احمد ساغر نے کہا کہ مسئلہ کشمیر حل ہونے سے سیاچن کا مسئلہ بھی حل ہو جائے گا ۔انہوں نے کہا کہ اس نازک صورت حال میں کشمیری قیادت مل بیٹھ کر لائحہ عمل تیار کرنا چاہئے اور دونوں ملکوں کو یہ باور کیا جائے کہ کشمیر کے مسئلہ کو نظرانداز نہ کیا جائے ۔ان کا کہنا تھا کشمیری مسئلے کے بنیادی فریق ہیں اور وہ اس مسئلہ کے حل میں اہم رول ادا کر سکتے ہیں۔انہوں نے کہا کہ کشمیرکا مسئلہ کشمیری  ہی حل کریں گے۔ مولانا نوشہری نے کہا کہ مسئلہ کشمیر کے سلسلے میں پاکستان کی صورت حال نے ہمیں مایوس کیاہے مگر ہم سرنڈر نہیں کریں گے ۔انہوں نے کشمیری قیادت کو مشورہ دیا کہ وہ باہمی اختلافات ختم کر کے بھارت سے آزادی کے نکتہ پر اکٹھے ہو جائیں ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ حکومت پاکستان کی موجودہ پالیسی جنرل مشرف کی کشمیر پالیسی کا تسلسل ہے ۔مولانا نوشہری نے لبریشن فرنٹ چیئرمین کی قربانیوں اور تحریک کے تئیں انکی کمٹمنٹ کی تعریف کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ ملک ہمیشہ اپنے موقف پر ڈٹے رہے۔

Islamabad, Apr 19: Terming unity as key to success, Kashmiri leaders hailing from both sides of Line of Control today maintained that in view of the changing world scenario there was dire need to chalk out a comprehensive strategy to take the ongoing struggle for right to self-determination to its logical end.
 Kashmiri leaders made these assertions while speaking at a luncheon held in honour of JKLF Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik by Ameer Jammat-e-Islami Abdul Rashid Turabi here on Thursday. Besides the APHC convener Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, Ghulam Nabi Nowsheri, columnists and media representatives were present on the occasion.
 Speaking on the occasion, the JKLF chief said that the recent history of Kashmir is witness to the fact that Kashmiris have offered matchless sacrifices during the ongoing struggle.
 “It is very unfortunate and indeed painful for Kashmiris when people talk about freezing Kashmir or putting it on back burner. It was not at all acceptable to the people of Kashmir, who have rendered huge sacrifices over the last several years,” Malik said.
 He said after 9/11 Kashmiris started a peaceful, non-violent and democratic struggle to achieve the cherished goal. “Now it is the moral responsibility of international community to reciprocate and respond positively to the Kashmiri people’s demands”, he maintained.
 He said that instead of wasting much time, the two countries should come forward in a big way to resolve this long pending issue to ensure lasting peace in the region.
 Regarding Indo-Pak dialogue Malik said that Kashmiris have made it clear time and again that they were not averse to talks. “But one fails to understand that on one hand they talk about strengthening peace and dialogue while on the other separatist leadership were being denied of any political space in Kashmir. It is a big question mark on the ongoing dialogue process,” he said.
 “What sort of peace process is it that restrictions are being imposed on political activities in Kashmir”, he added. Malik also termed crackdown on Facebook users in Kashmir as an assault on freedom of expression.
 He also expressed dissatisfaction over the role of Pakistan media saying that the K-issue has been deleted from Pakistani press.
 Speaking on the occasion the JI chief said that presently the Pakistani political leadership, main opposition parties and the incumbent regime’s stance on Kashmir issue was not in line with the prevailing situation on ground in Kashmir.
 He said that it was a crucial time for the Kashmiri leadership to deal with the challenges both at national and international level. He said that there was dire need to have a comprehensive strategy to meet the challenges.
 APHC convener Mehmood Ahmed Saghar said that by resolving the core issue of Kashmir all the peripheral issues like Siachen and other issues would be automatically resolved. At this very critical juncture, he said that Kashmiri leadership on both sides should evolve a joint mechanism to take the ongoing struggle to its logical end.
 Moulana Nowsheri, stressed the need for complete unanimity within the ranks and files of separatist leaders. He also praised the JKLF chief for his indomitable role in the freedom struggle.

Zardari visits Siachen to express solidarity with army

Islamabad, Apr 18: To express solidarity with armed forces, Pakistan President, Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday visited the Gayari sector of Siachen where rescue teams have been struggling hard to trace the trapped soldiers buried under a massive avalanche that swept away the battalion headquarters of Northern Light Infantry (NLI) on April 7.
 Zardari who was accompanied by Chief of the Army Staff, General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani witnessed the ongoing rescue operation in the Gayari sector and received briefing about the search operations going on for last two weeks.
 According to a private news channel the Pak president also took an aerial view of the avalanche, wherein the country lost about 139 people, including 124 servicemen and 11 civilians.
 It may be recalled here that President Zardari was scheduled to visit Siachen on Monday, but due to unfavourable whether conditions he had to cancel his trip to the mountainous region.

اسلام آباد//پاک زیر انتظام کشمیر کے سابق وزیراعظم بیرسٹر سلطان محمود چوہدری اور جموں و کشمیر لبریشن فرنٹ چیئرمین یٰسین ملک نے کہا ہے کہ کشمیری پاکستان اور بھارت کے درمیان مذاکراتی عمل کے خلاف نہیں بلکہ انکی خواہش ہے کہ پاک بھارت مذاکرات جاری رہیں تاکہ تمام تصفیہ طلب معاملات بالخصوص مسئلہ کشمیر کاپرامن اور منصفانہ حل تلاش کیا جاسکے تاہم انکا کہنا تھا کہ پاک بھارت مذاکرات میں کشمیریوں کی شمولیت انتہائی ناگزیر ہے ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ کشمیریوں کے بغیر پاک بھارت مذاکراتی عمل میں مثبت پیشرفت نہیں ہو سکتی۔ان خیالات کا اظہار دونوں لیڈروں نے میڈیا نمائندوں سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کیا۔فرنٹ چیئرمین یاسین ملک نے کہا کہ کشمیریوں نے بیش بہا قربانیاں دی ہیں اور اب یہ کہنا مناسب نہیں کہ اس دیرینہ مسئلے کو آئندہ نسلوں پر چھوڑ دیا جائے۔انہوں نے کہا کہ کشمیریوں نے قربانیاں دی ہیں اوروہ آئندہ بھی مسئلہ کشمیر کے حل کے لئے جدوجہد جاری رکھیں گے۔انہوں نے کہا کہ اب جبکہ کشمیری عدم تشدد کی جدوجہد جاری رکھے ہوئے ہیںتو بھارت کو بھی چاہئے کہ اسی جذبہ کیساتھ مسئلہ کشمیر، کشمیریوں کی مرضی و منشاء کے مطابق حل کرے۔ملک کا کہنا تھا کہ جہاں تک Statusqoیامسئلہ کشمیر کو سردخانے میں ڈالنے کاسوال ہے ،یہ کشمیریوں کو قابل قبول نہیں کیونکہ کشمیریوں نے آزادی کیلئے بے شمار قربانیاں دی ہیں۔انکا کہنا تھا کہ اب جبکہ کشمیریوں نے 9/11 کے بعد انٹرنیشنل کمیونٹی کی خواہش پر عدم تشدد کی جدوجہد شروع کی ہے لہٰذااب دیکھنا یہ ہے کہ بین الاقوامی برادری کیا کردار ادا کرتی ہے۔اس موقع پربیرسٹر سلطان محمود چوہدری نے کہا کہ وہ کشمیری قیادت کے ہر فیصلے پر لبیک کہیں گے کیونکہ انہوںنے انتہائی مشکل حالات میںاس تحریک کو جاری رکھا ہوا ہے اور بھارتی فوج کے مظالم کے باوجود جدوجہد کو جاری رکھے ہوئے ہیں۔انکا کہنا تھا کہ بھارتی توپ و تفنگ اور بربریت کے باوجوبھی کشمیرکے عوام کے جذبہ حریت کو نہیں دبا سکی۔انہوں نے کہا کہ وہ عالمی سطح پرمسئلہ کشمیر کو اجاگر کرنے کیلئے اپنی کوششیں جاری رکھے ہوئے ہیں۔انہوں نے اس بات کا اعتراف کیا کہ حد متارکہ کے اس جانب کشمیری قیادت وہ کردار ادا نہ کرسکے جو کہ تحریک آزادی کے بیس کیمپ سے کیا جانا چاہیے تھا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ وہ کشمیری بھائیوں کو یقین دلاتے ہیں کہ وہ انکی جدوجہد میں انکے شانہ بہ شانہ شریک ہیں۔اس سے قبل بیرسٹر سلطان محمود چوہدری، یٰسین ملک اور حریت رہنمائوں نے مختلف امور پر تبادلہ خیال کیا اور مسئلہ کشمیر کے حل کے لئے بین الاقوامی سطح پر کوششیں تیز کرنے کے مختلف پہلوئوں کا جائزہ بھی لیا گیا۔

Status-quo won’t be acceptable to people of Valley: Malik

Islamabad, Apr 18: Former PaK premier, Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chudhary and the JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik have reiterated their call for a meaningful and result-oriented dialogue between key stakeholders to seek an amicable and lasting solution to the lingering dispute of Kashmir in line with the peoples’ aspirations.
 Talking to the media men here on Wednesday, both the leaders said that Kashmiris were not averse to Indo-Pak dialogue process but they wanted that the talks process should continue so that all issues particularly the core issue of Kashmir could be settled through peaceful means. The duo, however, maintained that the inclusion of Kashmiris in the talks was imperative as they observed that there would be no progress in peace talks between India and Pakistan unless Kashmiris were made part of the negotiating process.
 JKLF chief, Muhammad Yasin Malik said that Kashmiri people have rendered tremendous sacrifices over the last several decades and the idea of leaving Kashmir solution to next generations does not augur well under the given circumstances. He said that following 9/11 episode Kashmiris, to the desire of international community, gave up violent movement and started a peaceful, non-violent and democratic struggle to achieve the cherished goal. “It is high time now that the international community must reciprocate and respond positively to the Kashmiri peoples’ call for a just solution of Kashmir issue”, he said adding that Kashmiris who have offered matchless sacrifices would continue their struggle for a peaceful solution of the dispute.
 He made it emphatically clear that putting Kashmir on back burner, status-quo or the proposals like freezing Kashmir for a certain period of time won’t be acceptable to the people of Kashmir. He maintained that without wasting much time the two countries should make serious efforts to resolve this long pending issue to ensure durable peace in the region.
 Barrister Chuhary lauded the sacrifices made by Kashmiris and said that he would accept every decision of Kashmiri leadership vis-à-vis the resolution of Kashmir imbroglio saying that they (Kashmiri separatist leaders) continued the struggle for right to self-determination despite all odds. He was of the view that despite repression and suppression India failed to quell the voice of Kashmiri people. He said that in his capacity he had made all out efforts to project and promote Kashmir cause at international level. However, he admitted the fact that Kashmiri leadership on this side of line of control failed to play their due role. He also assured his full support to Kashmiris’ ongoing struggle to achieve the cherished goal of right to self-determination.
 Earlier, Barrister Chudhary had a detailed meeting with JKLF stalwarts and Hurriyat leaders including the APHC convener Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Syed Yousuf Naseem and others at his residence in Islamabad.

اسلام آباد//پاکستان کے سابق وزیر اعظم اور مسلم لیگ (ن) کے صدرمیاں محمد نواز شریف نے کہا ہے کہ بھارت اور پاکستان کوسیاچن سے اپنی فوجیں واپس بلالینی چاہئیں۔ اسکردو میں میڈیا کے نمائندوں سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے نواز شریف نے کہاکہ گیاری سیکٹر میںبرفانی تودے کے نیچے دبے نوجوانوں کے اہل خانہ سے اظہار یکجہتی کرتے ہوئے نواز شریف نے کہا کہ گلگت بلتستان کے عوام محب وطن ہیں ۔انہوں نے کہا کہ جذبہ حب الوطنی میں سرشار گلگت بلتستان کے جوانوں نے پاک فوج میں اہم کردار اداکرتے ہوئے انتہائی نا مساعد حالات میں وطن عزیز کا دفاع کیا۔انہوں نے متاثرہ خاندان کو فی کس5لاکھ روپے کا چیک دینے کے علاوہ خاندان کے ایک فرد کو پنجاب میں نوکری دینے کا بھی اعلان کیا ہے۔انہوں نے خطے میں حالیہ کشیدگی اور معصوم لوگوں کے قتل عام پر افسوس کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے ملوث افراد کو قرار واقع سزاد دینے کا مطالبہ بھی کیا۔ایک نجی ٹیلی ویژن چینل کے مطابق نو از شریف نے گیاری سیکٹر میں امدادی کاروائیوں کا بھی جائزہ لیا اورریسکیو ورکرز کے لئے دو سو خیمے بھی دئے۔یاد رہے کہ تقریبا ایک ہفتہ قبل سیاچن کے گیاری سیکٹر میں ایک کلومیٹر طویل اور اسی فٹ اونچے گلیشئر نے ناردرن لائٹ انفنٹری کے بٹالین ہیڈ کواٹر کو اپنی لپیٹ میں لے لیااور وہاں موجود 128فوجی اور11شہری برفانی تودے تلے دب گئے۔خراب موسم کے باوجود کیمپ کے مقام پر کھدائی کا کام جاری ہے۔پاک فوج کے ساتھ ساتھ امریکی ، جرمن، سوئیس اور دیگر مماملک کے ماہرین برفانی تودے میں دبے افراد کی تلاش کے کام میں مصروف ہیں۔گیاری سیکٹر کے اس بٹالین ہیڈ کواٹر میں دب جانے والے فوجیوں کی اکثریت کا تعلق گلگت بلتستان سے  اور26فوجیوں کا تعلق پاک زیر انتظام کشمیر سے ہے ۔ برفانی تودے میں دب جانے والے افراد میں ایک لیفٹینٹ کرنل اور دو کیپٹن بھی شامل ہیں۔ابتدائی طور پر پانچ لاشیں نکالی جاچکی ہیں۔گیاری سیکٹر13ہزار فٹ کی بلندی پر واقع ہے اور اس کے گرد و نواح میں دور تک کوئی آباد نہیں ہے ۔ایک محتاط اندازے کے مطابق 1984سے لیکر اب تک بھار ت اور پاکستان کے 8ہزار سے زائد فوجی لقمہ اجل بن چکے ہیں۔

Nawaz for troop withdrawal from Siachen

Islamabad, Apr 17: The former prime minister of Pakistan and president of Muslim League (N), Mian Muhammad Nawaz Shareef, has said that it was high time that India and Pakistan should pullout their troops from Siachen.
These remarks were made by the PML-N chief while talking to news reporters at Sakardu on Tuesday. Shareef along with his party leaders dashed to the mountainous region to show solidarity with the families of Pakistani soldiers who were buried alive under a massive avalanche at the icy battlefield.
Shareef hailed the services rendered by Pak army as well as the people of the region. Expressing sympathy with the affected families, he said the soldiers of NLI (Northern Light Infantry) have played vital role in defending the frontiers of the country in a very critical situation. Shareef also distributed cheques worth Rs 500, 000 to the families of the affected soldiers at Skardu.
On the occasion, Shareef announced that the government of Punjab would provide job opportunities to the affected families. He also expressed his serious concern over the loss of precious lives as a result of recent sectarian violence in the region.
According to a private news channel, the former premier also visited the site of the avalanche in the Gayari sector of Siachen and reviewed the search and rescue efforts underway at the camp site.
The dispute between India and Pakistan over Siachen erupted some 28 years back. Since then the two countries have been deploying army and spending huge resources worth billions of dollars to maintain their presence at the highest battleground on the earth.
As a result of inhospitable and extremely unfavourable weather conditions the two countries have lost over 8,000 troops besides consuming billions of dollars. Recently Pakistan lost at least 139 people, including 124 servicemen and 11 civilians at Giyari Battalion headquarter which was hit by a massive avalanche in the first week of April 2012.
According to reports Pakistan spends rupees 15 million a day to maintain three battalions at the world’s highest battlefield, whereas, India spends approximately 50 million a day to maintain its troop presence in the area.

Pak committed to welfare, dev of Kashmiris: Gilani

Islamabad, Apr 16: Pakistan Prime Minister, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said the incumbent democratic dispensation in the centre was committed to the welfare and development of people of Pakistani Administered Kashmir (PaK).
 PM Gilani made these remarks while talking to the PaK premier, Chaudhry Abdul Majid who called on him at the PM house in Islamabad on Monday.
 Divulging details of the meeting Chudhary Rasheed, press secretary to PaK prime minister, told Greater Kashmir that Gilani assured his government’s all out support to PaK premier for the completion of development projects under way in the region.
 Besides deliberating on other issues of mutual interest Chudhary said that both the leaders in the meeting agreed for speedy disbursement of compensation among Mogla Dam affectees, release of grant worth Rs 2.5 billion to the government of PaK and setting up of new projects in the region.
 PM Gilani also assured the visiting leader that the allocation of funds for Mirpore Airport would be included in the country’s (Pak) upcoming fiscal budget besides providing necessary aid and support for completion of all mega projects including the completion and widening of Kashmir Express way from Islamabad to Muzaffarabad.
 On behalf of the government and people of PaK, Chaudhry Abdul Majeed‚ thanked the Prime Minister Gilani for showing keen interest in the development and announcing mega projects during his recent visit to the region. Both the leaders have expressed deep sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of 38 PaK soldiers, who along with scores of fellow soldiers on NLI (a regiment of Pak army) were buried in Siachen Avalanche recently.
 Expressing solidarity with the bereaved families, the PaK premier announced a compensation of Rs 3000 for each family.
 Meanwhile, the former prime minister of PaK Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chudhary has said the Kashmiris living on both sides of line of control can play a vital role by acting as a peace bridge between India and Pakistan.

اسلام آباد//پاک زیر انتظام کشمیر کے وزیر اعظم چوہدری عبد المجید نے مسئلہ کشمیر کوتقسیم ہند کا نامکمل ایجنڈا قرار دیتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ برطانیہ جو مسئلہ کشمیر کا اہم فریق ہے کو کشمیریوں کو ان کا بنیادی حق استصواب رائے دلانے میں اپنا کردار ادا کرے ۔ کشمیر ہائوس میں برطانوی رکن پارلیمنٹ سٹیو بیکر کے ہمراہ پریس کانفرنس کرتے ہوئے وزیر اعظم چوہدری نے کہا کہ بھارت نے 64سال گزرنے کے باوجود مسئلہ کشمیر پر اپنے کئے گئے وعدے پورے نہیں کئے ۔انکا کہنا تھا کہ کہ کشمیریوں کے ساتھ کئے گئے وعدوں پر عمل درآمد کرنے کے بجائے بھارت نے  نہتے اور بے گناہ کشمیریوں کے خلاف طاقت کا بے جا استعمال کیا۔وزیر اعظم نے کہا کہ وہ سٹیو بیکر کے شکر گزار ہیں کہ انہوں نے بھارت کے زیر انتظام کشمیر میں انسانی حقوق کی خلاف ورزیوں،گمنام قبروں اور کشمیریوں کے حق خود ارادیت کا معاملہ برطانوی پارلیمنٹ میں اُٹھایا۔انہوں نے کہا کہ برطانیہ مادر جمہوریت ہے اور یہ اس کی ذمہ داری ہے کہ وہ درینہ مسئلہ کشمیر حل کروانے میں اپنی ذمہ داری پوری کرے ۔وزیر اعظم نے عالمی برادری پر بھی زور دیا کہ وہ کشمیریوں کو حق خود ارادیت دلانے کے لیئے بھارت پر دبائو ڈالے ۔وزیر اعظم نے ایک سوال کے جواب میں کہا کہ کشمیری بھارت کے خلاف نہیں ہیں البتہ ہم اس کی کشمیر پالیسی کے خلاف ہیں جس کے تحت اس نے کشمیریوں کا حق خود ارادیت دبا رکھا ہے ۔انہوں نے کہا کہ مسئلہ کشمیر کا حل گلوبل پیس کیلئے بھی ناگزیر ہے انہوں نے امید ظاہر کی کہ صدرآصف علی زرداری اور وزیراعظم منموہن سنگھ کے درمیان ملاقات سے پاک بھارت مذاکرات کی فضاء ساز گار بنے گی۔  اس موقعہ پر گفتگو کرتے ہوئے برطانوی رکن پارلیمنٹ سٹیو بیکر نے کہا کہ مسئلہ کشمیر پر برطانیہ کو فعال کردار ادا کرنے کی ضرورت ہے ۔انہوں نے کہا کہ اقوام متحدہ کو چاہیے کہ وہ قوموں کے درمیان ’’رول آف لا‘‘ قائم کرنے کے لیئے کردار ادا کرے تا کہ ممالک اپنے عالمی سطح پر کیئے گئے وعدوں سے منحرف نہ ہو سکیں۔مسئلہ کشمیر اور کشمیریوں کے حق خود ارادیت کے حق میں اپنی مہم کے حوالے سے سٹیو بیکر نے کہا کہ وہ پارلیمنٹ کے بعد اس معاملہ کو عوام کے اندر روشناس کرائیں گے اور اس کے بعد اس معاملہ کو یورپی عوام تک لے جائیں گے ۔ سٹیو بیکر نے کہا کہ برطانیہ پاکستان اور بھارت کے درمیان تمام ایشوز کو پرامن طریقے سے حل کرنے کا خواہاں ہے ۔ایک سوال پر سٹیو بیکر نے اتفاق کیا کہ برطانیہ سمیت عالمی طاقتوں نے انسانی حقوق کی خلاف ورزیوں کے حوالے سے دیگر عالمی مسائل کے مقابلے میں مسئلہ کشمیر کو کم اہمیت دی ہے جو ان کا انسانی حقوق کے تحفظ و فروغ پر دہرا معیار ہے ۔انہوں نے کہا کہ کشمیریوں کا حق خود ارادیت اقوام متحدہ کی قراردادوں اور ڈکلوریشن کے مطابق حل کیا جائے ۔انہوں نے کہا کہ برٹش کشمیری اس بات کے مکمل حق دار ہیں کہ مسئلہ کشمیر پر امن طریقے سے حل کیا جائے تا کہ ان کی نسلیں بہی خوشحالی دیکھ سکیں ۔سٹیو بیکر نے یقین دہانی کرائی کہ وہ کشمیریوں کے حق خود ارادیت کی حمایت جاری رکھیں گے انہوں نے واضح کیا کہ مسئلہ کشمیر کوئی بھولا ہوا ایجنڈا نہیں ہے ۔انہوں نے ایک اور سوال پر کہا کہ حالیہ صدر آصف علی زرداری اور منموہن سنگھ مذاکرات سے توقع کی جا سکتی ہے کہ دونوں ملکوں کے درمیان مذاکرات کا سلسلہ مزید بڑھے گا اور ان کے درمیان تمام حل طلب مسائل پرامن طور پر مذاکرات کے ذریعے حل ہوں گے ۔انہوں نے پاکستان اور بھارت دونوں ملکوں پر زور دیا کہ وہ مسئلہ کشمیر کو کشمیری عوام کی خواہشات کے مطابق حل کرنے کے لیئے طریقے تلاش کریں۔

Islamabad, Apr 12: Terming Kashmir as an unfinished agenda of the partition of Indian subcontinent, Pakistan Administered Kashmir (PaK) Prime Minister, Chudhary Abdul Majeed has said the Britain should play its much needed role to get the issue resolved on the universally accepted principle of right to self-determination.
“Notwithstanding the commitments made with the people of Kashmir, India tried to resolve Kashmir by using its military might”, Chudhary Majeed said this while addressing a press conference at Kashmir House on Thursday.
Flanked by British parliamentarian, Steve Baker the PaK premier said that instead of giving Kashmiris their right to self-determination, “the successive regimes in India tried to stifle their voice.” The prime minister praised the British parliament for his unprecedented role and holding Kashmir-centric debate in the parliament. Referring to Britain’s reputation as mother of all democracies Chudhary said that it was moral responsibility of the country (UK) to settle this long pending dispute to ensure durable peace in the region. He also appealed the international community to help resolve the dispute of Kashmir.
Responding to a query the PaK premier said that Kashmiris’ were not against India, but they were against its policies depriving Kashmiris of their fundamental rights.
Expressing satisfaction over the meeting between President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, he said that the meeting would be helpful in creating conducive atmosphere for talks.
Speaking on the occasion, Steve Baker said that it was high time that the UK should play its effective role to bring about a peaceful solution of Kashmir issue. He was of the view that the United Nations should also play a role in setting up a rule of law whereby member countries should be made legally bound to fulfill the commitments/pledges made with the international community.
Assuring his full support to Kashmir cause, Baker said that he would promote and project Kashmiris’ cause for right to self-determination besides sensitizing the masses in Britain vis-à-vis Kashmiri peoples’ fundamental rights. He said the United Kingdom wants that both India and Pakistan should resolve all disputes including Kashmir through peaceful means.
He was of the opinion that both the nations should explore the ways and means to settle Kashmir issue in accordance with Kashmiris’ aspirations.
To a question, Baker agreed that the world powers were relatively less concerned about the human rights violations in Kashmir.  Regarding the recent meeting between Indian Premier and Pakistan President Baker hoped that the meeting would go a long way to strengthen peace process in the region besides helping the neighbouring states to resolve all issues that have been bedeviling the relations between the two countries.

US reward on Saeed to deepen void between West and Muslim World: Salah-ud-Din

Muzaffarabad, Apr 4: Denouncing the US for announcing head-money for Jamat-ud-Dawa (JuD) Chief Hafiz Saeed, the Chairman of United Jihad Council (UJC) and supreme commander of Hizbul Mujahideen Syed Salah-ud-Din has termed it a disdainful act that would further deepen the gap between the Muslim world and the West.
 “The announcement of bounty for Hafiz Saeed by US is a calculated move to appease India besides hurting the sentiments of Muslims of the subcontinent,” the Hizb chief made these remarks while addressing an extraordinary session of the UJC here on Wednesday. He said that the whole world knows that Hafiz Saeed is doing social welfare work for last several years on the platform.
 He said the US welfare organizations by themselves had admitted and acknowledged the role of the JuD during the earthquake of 2005 and the flash-floods of 2011 in Sindh.
 He was of the view that Hafiz Saeed was being targeted as he and his organization was against the US drone attacks and the re-opening of NATO supplies routes through Pakistan.
 Urging the government of Pakistan to discharge its legal and constitutional duties, Salah-ud-Din said the government should ensure full protection to its citizens thereby taking concrete measures both at political and diplomatic level.
 The UJC also extended its full support to Hurriyat call for shutdown on April 7 against Dr Fai’s imprisonment. The participants of the meeting also expressed deep sorrow and grief over the sad demise of MC leader Syed Bashir Indrabi and prayed for the departed soul.

اسلام آباد// جسٹس فیض عیسیٰ قاضی کی سربراہی میںتین رکنی میمو کمیشن نے لبریشن فرنٹ چیئرمین محمد یاسین ملک کوجرح (cross- examination) کیلئے 5اپریل کو طلب کیا ہے۔کمیشن کی جانب سے جاری نوٹس کے مطابق عدالتی کارروائی کا باضابطہ آغاز 5اپریل 2012صبح 9بجے اسلام آباد ہائی کورٹ کے روم نمبر 1میں ہوگا۔ یادرہے کہ جے کے ایل ایف کے سربراہ 26مارچ کوپہلی مرتبہ کمیشن کے سامنے پیش ہوئے اورمتنازعہ میمو کے خالق اور امریکی تاجر منصور اعجازکی طر ف سے لگائے گئے الزامات کو محض جھوٹ کا پلندہ قرار دیتے ہوئے اپنا بیان ریکارڈ کیا۔ ملک کا بیان ریکارڑ کرنے کے بعد جسٹس فیض عیسیٰ قاضی نے منصور اعجاز کے وکیل ایڈوکیٹ اکرم شیخ کو ہدایت دی کہ وہ ملک کو cross-exminationکے حوالے سے عدالت کو تحریری طور مطلع کریں۔ملک نے کمیشن کو واضع کیا تھاکہ وہ ہر قسم کے سوال و جواب کے لئے تیار ہیں۔اکرم شیخ کی میمو کمیشن کوتحریری درخواست کے بعد کمیشن نے اس ضمن میں تمام متعلقین کو  با ضابط طورنوٹس جاری کیا ہے۔

Islamabad, Apr 1: The three-member memogate Commission headed by Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court, Justice Qazi Faez Isa has asked the JKLF Chief Muhammad Yasin Malik to appear before the Commission for cross-examination.
 According to the notice served to the JKLF chief, the Commission is scheduled to commence its proceedings on April 5. “The next date fixed for proceedings is Thursday 5th April 2012.  You (Malik) are, therefore, required to appear before the Commission in person in Court No. 1 of the Islamabad High Court 5th April, 2012 at 9:00 am for statement/cross examination”, the memo Commission notice said.
 It may be recalled that JKLF chief recorded his statement before the Commission on March 26. Following Malik’s statement Justice Qazi Faez Isa had asked Advocate Akram Sheikh, the counsel for Mansoor Ijaz to submit in writing whether he wanted to cross-examine Malik or not. Akram Sheikh on Saturday filed an application to the memo-commission regarding the cross examination of Malik who had outrightly rejected the allegations leveled against him by the US businessman Mansoor Ijaz.
 Pertinently, Malik had already told the court that he was ready and won’t shy away from facing any cross-examinations.
 Malik had requested the Pakistan Supreme Court to allow him to become a party before the Commission, after the US-based businessman of Pakistani origin, Mansoor Ijaz, alleged that he had arranged a meeting between Malik and then-chief of Indian intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) at the behest of US government.
